The route
Hamilton and Matamata are linked by routes using SH1B or the SH26 and SH27 corridors, with a connection via Cambridge also possible depending on the addresses and road conditions. The appropriate option is chosen for the booked journey rather than a promised sequence of individual turns.
A central Hamilton pickup is only the example used here. The route can start differently for a suburban address, and the final approach changes for a Matamata property outside the centre. Include the actual endpoints so the live journey information reflects your plans as closely as possible.
Wait and return
Need a collection from Matamata for the journey back to Hamilton? Add it as the second leg, entering the location where you expect to be ready. The homeward trip has its own full fare; booking it separately within your itinerary keeps both directions and their pickup arrangements clear.
Use the right Hamilton starting point
Hamilton CBD and Hamilton Airport are different pickup locations. If your journey begins in the city, enter the hotel, home or business where you will meet the driver. If it starts at the airport, replace the city example with the airport's full address and supply the relevant arrival information for that booking.
A clear collection point is particularly useful when several people are travelling together. Decide whether everyone will meet at one address or whether another collection needs to be included. Put additional addresses into the route from the outset so the fare and journey cover the arrangement you intend.
Match the vehicle to the whole load
A Standard sedan accommodates up to three passengers, an XL seven-seater up to six, Premium up to four and a Large van up to ten. Look beyond headcount when making the choice. Suitcases, shopping and other belongings can affect which category is appropriate, even when the party fits within the seating limit.
If you are arranging transport on behalf of relatives or friends, confirm what they will bring before booking. It is easier to clarify an unusual item with the office beforehand than discover a mismatch at collection. Include practical details without assuming that every vehicle category offers the same luggage space.
Book for Matamata, then plan anything beyond it
The example destination is Matamata i-SITE on Broadway. Swap it for accommodation or another full address if that is where you want to finish. Review the live price after making changes; an instant quote is available before contact details are requested, and the payment method for confirmed bookings is card only.
Hobbit Cabs has its sole base in Matamata and also provides Matamata to Hobbiton transfers. This page is for arriving in town, not for arrival at that attraction. If you want a later visit, arrange the onward transport and obtain admission separately from the official ticket operator.
Hobbiton Movie Set tour tickets are sold only by the official operator — book yours at hobbitontours.com. Hobbit Cabs provides transport only.
Questions
Can you collect us from a Hamilton home?
Yes. Enter the full residential address and explain any access detail that could affect the pickup.
Is this the same as a Hamilton Airport transfer?
No. The example begins in Hamilton CBD; an airport journey needs the airport entered as its actual pickup.
Can the transfer include several addresses?
Each leg allows up to ten stops. Add every required location during booking rather than leaving it as an informal request.
Where can we check the fare?
Use the live price above with your chosen vehicle and addresses. Written example fares are not used for this route.
How can we communicate about the collection?
Use the contact information supplied through the booking. WhatsApp is also available when you need to discuss your arrangements.
