The route
Collection is from Hobbiton Movie Set at 501 Buckland Road, Hinuera, Matamata. The journey heads towards the Matamata road connections and uses SH27 and SH1B towards the Hamilton area, where the route joins SH1 north on the Waikato Expressway.
The northbound corridor passes the Huntly and Pokeno areas before continuing through Bombay towards Auckland. Once in the city, the final approach depends on your destination and current traffic. An Auckland CBD example is only a starting point: replace it with the full accommodation, residential or other address where your party needs to arrive.
Wait and return
If you also need transport from Auckland earlier in the day, arrange both directions together and ask about a wait-and-return option. That gives the office a complete picture of where you start and finish, even if the two Auckland addresses differ. Each return leg is priced as a full fare. This page can also be used for a standalone departure when your arrival transport has already been organised.
Give your onward journey a clear destination
Auckland can mean a central hotel, a suburban home or a meeting point on the other side of the city. Entering the precise destination is important for both the fare and the route estimate. Include the property name and any access information that will help the driver identify the correct entrance.
If your group needs to separate at different addresses, add the requested drop-offs before finalising the booking. Up to ten stops can be included per leg. A complete list allows everyone to understand the plan and avoids relying on an extra destination being added after the car has departed.
Agree collection without guessing your availability
Choose a pickup that reflects when your party expects to be ready at the agreed collection point. This departure page does not use the tour-arrival calculator. Check your own arrangements and contact the office if you need help translating them into a practical transport request.
Keep an accessible phone with you so any meeting-point question can be resolved. The driver name, vehicle and phone details are shown 24 hours before pickup, and WhatsApp is available. If your plans change, communicate promptly rather than assuming the driver can infer a new collection time.
Book the road transfer separately

Payment is card only. The deposit is 20%, increasing to 50% for December and January, and the balance is due within 24 hours or before pickup. If your Auckland destination is the airport rather than the city, enter that airport address explicitly and plan around your own onward flight requirements.

Can I book only the journey back to Auckland?
A one-way departure is welcome even if you reached Hobbiton Movie Set by another arrangement. Enter your intended pickup and complete Auckland destination to see the relevant live fare.
Will the booking default to an Auckland hotel?
The example destination is Auckland CBD, not a particular property. Replace it with your hotel's full address so the transfer ends where you actually need to be.
Can our bags travel with us?
Provide the amount and type of luggage when arranging the vehicle. This helps check suitability alongside your passenger count, especially when the transfer forms part of a longer journey.
What are the cancellation terms?
Cancellations receive a 97% refund with at least seven days' notice, 50% from 24 hours to seven days, and no refund with less than 24 hours' notice.
Is a last-minute departure possible?
Requests under three hours before pickup need office approval and a card hold. Short notice itself does not add a surcharge, but do not consider the vehicle confirmed until approval is given.
